Safe Chiropractic Care and Treatment!

Our doctors provide safe and gentle care for prenatal patients. They use specialized treatment techniques that avoid placing pressure on the abdomen, while still achieving effective pregnancy pain relief in the hips, pelvis and back.?

Here are the most common pregnancy-related conditions we treat at Kaizo Health:

  • Back Pain
  • Neck Pain
  • Sciatica / Hip Pain
  • Round Ligament Pain
  • Diastasis Recti
  • Piriformis Syndrome
  • Headaches

Condition Spotlight: Diastasis Recti

About 2 out of every 3 pregnant women has diastasis recti. It’s also a common postnatal condition.

What is Diastasis Recti ?

Diastasis recti is a partial or complete separation of the rectus abdominis (6 pack) muscle on the front of your abdomen. This can be caused by the uterus putting extra pressure on the rectus abdominis. Diastasis recti is more likely if the rectus abdominis muscle was weaker to begin with.

An issue that can arise from diastasis recti is back pain. This is where chiropractic treatment and rehab comes in.

What Can We Do to Help?

At Kaizo Health we pair chiropractic treatment with physical therapy, so in addition to manual adjustments our prenatal patients can complete rehab exercises tailored to their specific needs.

In the case of diastasis recti, rehab could include:

  • Bracing of the abdominals
  • Bringing in certain parts of the core to close the gap in front
  • Proper breathing
  • Learning how to pick up your child

Continue Care After Delivery!

Post-partum chiropractic care is just as important as prenatal care. One key thing we focus on is proper biomechanics, and correcting movement; especially when picking up and putting down your child.
