Many people think that portion control is another way to just count calories.

This makes it the perfect tool to keep you from overeating, undereating or to just help maintain bodyweight.

Here are the measurements:

Protein: 1 Palm Size

Vegetables: 1 Fist

Carbohydrates: 1 Cupped Hand

Fats: 1 Thumb Size

How to build your plate using your hand

 

Men eating 3-4 meals/day would get between 2,300-3,000 calories/day.

Women eating 2-4 meals/day would get between 1,200-1,500 calories/day.

Customize your own meal plan

If you are an active male, try 6-8 servings of each food group per day (2,300-3,000 calories).

If you are an active female, try 4-6 servings of each food group per day (1,500-2,100 calories).
